An Analog Telephony Adapter (or ATA) is a small device that can be used to connect a conventional analog phone with Papiando's digital Voice over IP infrastructure. This basically allows the same functionality as with a digital phone without the need to purchase the phone. There are few limitations though, depending on the phone device being used.
